Two styles of tournament where one stays dead after being killed. In single-kill, once dead you are eliminated. In double-elimination you have two lives to lose, but after that, a third death is fatal.
This shortens tourneys but also puts pressure on those left 'in' because bouts come faster and faster, as the number of fighters falls.
