The head, breast, wings and claws of an eagle, with the hindquarters and tail of a lion. It has swept-back pointed ears. If rampant it is termed segreant. Also spelt Griffin or a Griffon. A male gryphon (also called a Keythong) has no wings but often has horns and a spiky tail.
