Several of the entries here indicate "It may not have any official subgroups." I question the truthfulness of this for shires. Some Shires have many subgroups, others have no subgroups at all. Hence the rider "may". Perhaps the sentence might be amended "It may not necessarily have any official subgroups." [[User:Paul Matisz]] 07/09/08 12:53 EST

The important word here is "official." According to Corpora, Colleges, Ports and Strongholds - institutional groups - located within other branches report through that local branch otherwise they can report directly to Kingdom. No official subgroups
