Cian, I'm not sure that setting this page up as a disambiguation page was necessarily a good idea. Most (all?) of the pages that link here are referring to the Order of the Pelican, and having to go through a disambiguation page to get to the intended page is undesirable.
Possible fixes:
- Go to every page that links to the page Pelican and change the link to Order of the Pelican
- Revert to the previous status and create a page called Pelican (bird)
- Leave things as they are and let users click through the exrta page.
- Something else

Well this also depends on what the aim of Cunnan is. Is it a Wiki on medieval stuff that is trying to stop being SCAcentric and Lochaccentric? Or is it an SCA Wiki that also includes historical information? I thought it was trying for the first. - Cian Gillebhrath 15:46, 2 Jul 2004 (EST)
- This is starting to look like something that should be on Cunnan:Village Pump. My current view on the rle of wiki is that it should try being the latter, without being Lochacentric. Cunnan is never going to compete with wikipedia in terms of "Battles and Kings" history. For an idea take a look at the Albigensian Crusade page I pasted from wikipedia, and look at all the red links. Anyone interested in history and not recreation is better of going to wikipedia. For people interested in recreation it is a different story.

By all means move this to the Cunnan:Village Pump. From my observance of the pages here, their design and their content, I like to agree with what is on the Main Page. I think of Cunnan as a resource for those interested in the medieval period, with a particular bent and extra information that is specific to the SCA but more stuff could be added that is specific to the NVG etc. For this reason, when I design/edit pages I like to only include information that is relevant to the period and Europe in period. I also like to be able to add content that helps explain the SCA and its terms, history and the way we play the game. But the medieval stuff gets top priority for me, so if there is an SCA aspect to the page, I like to include it as a subsection, not as the first thing you encounter on the page. For instance, the falconry page I wrote had medieval stuff first, then how modern falconry and the SCA can (or can't) interact. This is what I believe is the best design structure for Cunnan. Of course, not everyone is going to agree with me, or follow the same structure. Such is the way of Wiki pages. [shrugs] I can handle that.
And I do agree that we don't need screeds after screeds of information on a topic on a single page. Leave that to the references. I believe that Cunnan needs only give basic or interesting information on a topic or aspects of a topic. It need not be a textbook. - Cian Gillebhrath 23:29, 5 Jul 2004 (EST)
Since it is rather Lochaccentric, perhaps the people from other kingdoms could put in references to how things are in their kingdoms. Perhaps one kingdom allows very thin circlets for peers, but another restricts it to the nobility and another to royals only. Those sorts of things should be noted from kingdom to kingdom.
