In my mind, law is the field and how the related legal system works and what ideologies etc are behind it. Laws are the rules they relate to. I know this goes against the general practice for Cunnan of not using plural nouns for page titles, but I felt they needed separate pages. - Cian Gillebhrath 11:16, 26 Apr 2006 (EST)

Aren't SCA "laws" better described as rules as they are not backed by a government?--User 144 22:26, 8 March 2007 (EST)
:Probably true, but they are called Laws, at least at the Kingdom level. So whether or not the name is, strictly speaking, accurate, it is in use. AlexandreDavigne 00:20, 9 March 2007 (EST)

In the past when I created this page, I made a separate page for law and laws. I think this distinction needs to be made a little clearer on this page.

I suspect that anything in the Corpora is regarded by the mundane court as a by-law of a registered organization. Any kingdom or society handbooks, or declarations by the Crown are more procedural practises/standing orders. But in the SCA we try not to confuse the layman and just call them all laws. Rules makes it sound like the SCA is a game :^P . - Cian Gillebhrath 09:31, 9 March 2007 (EST)
