The Silkworm (Bombyx mori) is a caterpillar native to northern China. It metamorphises into a moth by making a coccoon out of raw silk. This silk is often harvested by boiling the coccoon, killnig the occupant.

The silkworm is traditionally fed mulberry leaves.
