In common usage it meant someone who was a member of the [[Order of Chivalry]], the [[Order of the Pelican]], and the [[Order of the Laurel]] before the creation of the [[Order of Defense]]. This was quite rare, as they must have demonstrated not only [[martial]] prowess. exemplary [[service]] to the [[Society]] (the Pelicans), and excellence in [[arts and sciences]] (the Laurels).

Prior to the advent of the Order of Defense, this meant someone had "the complete set" of Bestowed Peerages. After that Order was created, a [[Quadruple peer|Quadruple Peerage]] would be needed to complete the set.

(This terminology did not usually include [[Royal Peer|Royal Peerages]] for some reason.)
