&lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;New page&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div&gt;It appears that modern gesso is made with calcium carbonate and that historically gesso was made with gypsum which is actually a caclium sulphate.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
