&lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;New page&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div&gt;Note apart from original author: There are in fact 2 period examples in rapier plates which demonstrate the use of a mail gauntlet to protect the off-hand.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
It would be a good idea to name these examples. Mail gloves are different from butcher&amp;#039;s gloves in that they are a modern, welded, stainless steel version with very small, thin rings.&lt;br /&gt;
