			The '''SCA''' like most modern day organisation is an incorporated legal entity, known as [http://www.sca.org/\|SCA Inc.]. It had a [[Board of Directors]] (AKA the BoD) and a set of governing documents (ie the [[SCA Corpora]]). Since the group was started in the USA during [[1966]] (ie [[A.S. I]]) there are a few affiliate organisations that help support the modern middle ages across the globe.

			'''Affiliate Organizations''' are companies or corporations which exist outside of the USA for the purpose of simplfying membership and participation in the [[SCA]] for people who do not live in the United States of America. Typically they are responsible for modern concerns such as membership, insurance, and the like, but are subordinate to the [[BOD]] and [[Corpora]] for all matters which pertain to the internal structure and re-enactment. This explicitly includes restrictions on some [[award]]s and [[armour]] standards and [[combat]] conventions. The intent is to allow anyone active in the SCA anywhere in the world to participate anywhere else in the world with a minimum of disruption.

			As of 2017 there are at least four affiliates, two each in the Kingdoms of [[Lochac]] and [[Drachenwald]].
