''Laccio d�Amore'' is a dance for one Lord and one Lady, notable for its frequent use of the cadenza throughout the dance. [[Il Ballarino]] includes an arrangement of the music for lute. Caroso dedicated this dance to Signora Givlia Colloreta di Valvasone.

Caroso describes Laccio d�Amore as an �encounter�, which I take to mean that it should be interpreted as two people meeting for the first time. The couple has only a little time to spend together, so their interaction is light, fun, and frivolous, but also reserved in a way; there is relatively little contact between the dancers compared to a dance like [[Contrapasso]].
