New page

Boil (cooking method)
Boiling is a method of cooking in which the food to be cooked is emmersed in a liquid (water, broth, stock) and heated to high heat. The liquid evaporates from the bottom of the pot forming air bubbles that rise rapidly to the top of the pot, and is, well, boiling. A rolling boil is when the liquid continues to bubble unabated when the liquid is stirred. A gentle boil is a boil that creates few and infrequent bubbles in the liquid.

Boil (disease)
A boil is a painful point of infection of the skin. Notably, it was the sixth plague of Egypt in the bible.
