'''Conrad III'''  or ''Conradin'' (also called Conrad the Younger) was the son of [[Conrad II]] and his wife, Elizabeth of Bavaria.

He was born in 1252CE, in Bavaria, and became [[king]] of [[Jerusalem]] 2 years later, when his father died.  He would appear never to have visited Palestine, remaining in Europe, embroiled in controversy and war with the [[Pope]] and papalist forces in [[Italy]].  He died at the age of 16.

His death, without issue, left the line of succession uncertain.  Hugh of Cyprus had acted as his [[regent]] and he managed to obtain a coronation as [[Hugh I]].


It is (perhaps) worthy of note that he was also King of [[Sicily]] and [[Duke]] of Swabia, as well as being the last legitimate Hohenstaufen, his death ending the line.
