Bavaria is the largest federal state of south-western [[Germany]]. Bavaria was first mentioned supposedly by the [[Franks]] circa 520, while the first description (ie, east of the [[Swabia|Swabians]]) was given in Jordanes's Origins and Deeds of the Goths as of 551.
