The '''Iron Age''' was the period in which [[iron]] was the primary metal used in tools and weapons, typically dated in Europe from about the 10th century [[B.C.E]].  The [[medieval]] period of [[Europe|European]] history fell almost entirely within the Iron Age.

The European [[Iron Age]] is generally (although not universally) considered by academics to end at the [[Renaissance]].
