Known as ''El Sabio'' (the wise), '''Alfonso X''' was the king of [[Castile]] and [[L�on]] from 1252 - 1284.

He is best known for sheltering [[troubadour]]s during the [[Albigensian Crusade]], and collating two valuable treatises, the [[Cantigas de Santa Maria]] and the [[Libro de los juegos]].
