This is riddle number 34 from The Exeter Book.

Translation

I beheld a creature in the homes of men
that nourishes cattle. It has numerous teeth
and a useful beak bending downwards
which plunders gently while pulling homewards.
I strides through hillocks, seeking out herbs,
always locating those loosely held,
leaving the true ones attached to their roots,
still there standing their established ground,
to brightly bloom, blossom and grow.
