B.C. = Before Christ.
B.C. is commonly used to refer to dates before the birth of Jesus but it seems to have fallen out of favour in recent years. B.C.E. (Before Common Era) is more commonly used in modern documents.
BCE and Recreationists
BCE and the SCA
Generally, the SCA does not cover this part of history, generally recreating anything after Roman times. For a fuller discussion of the scope of the SCA, see period.
BCE and Re-Enactment
A number of re-enactment societies re-create periods duing this time.
However, any reference to Neolithic Re-Enactment societies (must have prominent brow ridge and cranial spur to participate) are, on the most part, fictitious.
