They were registered in the March 2018 LoAR, after being designed years prior. 
The hippocampus represents the University of Newcastle, as seen in the [https://archivesoutside.records.nsw.gov.au/grant-of-arms-the-university-of-newcastles-declaration-of-independence/ arms of the university]. 
The lymphad represents the [[Barony of Mordenvale]], whose lands on which the College resides. 
The three boats represent the Armada of Saint Crispin, the traditional warband of the College.

===St Crispin history===
The original SCA group at the University of Newcastle was called the College of St Julian the Hospitaller. After a period of dormancy, it was replaced by the College of St Crispin.

At the inception of the College of Saint Crispin, before its name was decided, a tournament was held to make that decision. Ragnar I, 27th Prince of Lochac, was victorious in that tournament. Prince Ragnar gave to the then Seneschal of the College, Lady Helene du Puy, the choice of Saint Crispin or Saint Olaf. Lady Helene chose Saint Crispin, and lo it was such that the 13th College of Lochac gained this name

The '''College of Blessed Herman the Cripple''' is an [[SCA]] [[College]] in the [[Barony of Innilgard]] in the [[Kingdom of Lochac]]. It is based at the [[University]] of Adelaide, Adelaide, Australia. As the first [[College]] and one of the first [[group]]s established in Lochac, it has a very old and rich history. According to official paperwork, it was the first [[college]] in [[Lochac]] to be founded [https://www.florilegium.org/files/STORIES/Lochac-Chrnls-art.html][https://oanda.sca.org//oanda_complex.cgi?w1=1&m1=name+pattern&p1=College+of&w2=1&m2=date+and+kingdom&p2=198609+198612+W], though this claim is disputed by the [[College of St Ursula]].

The first [[Queen]] of Lochac, [[Duchess]] Guðrun, is a former [[scholar]] and [[Seneschal]] of the college, and during her second reign as Queen, gave Blessed Herman the right to refer to itself as "The Queen's College".

The college has played a large part in the [[Inter-College War]]s, both as a host and regularly the victor. Often known as "the Friendly College", their mascot is [[Fred]], the Fire Breathing [[Goat]] of Doom. Assisting [[Fred]] is Oscar the Ram. They are also known for their "Book of Knowledge", depicted on their heraldry, and currently embodied in a ceramic cup in the shape of a book. Due to the fact it can hold alcohol, the Book is often referred to as "spirited" - apt, considering the college has historically had strong ties with drinking culture. The college is also known for being intensely humble - they're just superior to everyone else in that way.

The college is closely allied with [[College of St Christina the Astonishing]]. After a brief period of war in A.S.56 (see: [[Inter-College War]] XXV), the two colleges signed a peace treaty, and have been friends ever since. In acknowledgement of Blessed Herman proving the superior force in battle, the clause was added that the banners of St Christina cannot be larger than the average size of Blessed Herman banners. The treaty also requires St Christina to recognise the Book of Knowledge as being "sacred" to Blessed Herman.

===College Lore===

The patron saint of the college is [[St Monica]], who was the mother of [[St Augustine|St Augustine of Hippo]]. Early collegians believed her to be a patron saint of music, but subsequent searching has found no reference to this. In actuality, St Monica is the patron saint of disappointing children, alcoholics, and converting your relatives (among other things such as victims of adultery, victims of verbal abuse, married women, difficult marriages, and lapsed Catholics - but the first three are the ones claimed by Monicans). During ICW XXV, the Monicans sided with the [[College of Blessed Herman the Cripple]] over the [[College of St Christina the Astonishing]] as they believed that the Hermanites were the sort that we should help, as St Monica would have wanted.

The quills on the College's heraldry are known by Monicans to be swan feathers (nothing so base as a goose feather, what are we, [[College of St Cecilia|Cecillians]]?). As such, the swan is taken to be an informal symbol of the college. Monicans also consider the frog to be a symbol of the college, and if the heraldry of the college is drawn with supporters, they would be a frog and a swan.

The [[Frog Champion of St Monica]] is a member of the college chosen for their wit and frivolity, as exhibited through a speech. The Frog Bag is the symbol of this office, which appears as a green pilgrim's scrip with yellow interior and frog eyes on the flap of the bag. The first Frog Champion was Valentine Gaylord.

The [[Swan Champion of St Monica]] is a member of the college chosen for their beauty and deadliness, as exhibited through a boffer tournament. The Swan Boffer is the symbol of this office, which is a pure white boffer with ribbons attached. The first Swan Champion was Francis the Beardless.

The '''College of St Basil the Great''' is the name of the [[SCA]] [[group]] at the [[University]] of [[Western Australia]] in [[Perth]], [[Australia]]. The [[College]] is part of the [[Barony of Aneala]] in the [[Kingdom of Lochac]]. It was started in [[A.S. XXXVI]] ([[2001]]) and currently has about 30 [[member]]s. Within the University it is sometimes called the '''UWASCA''' or the '''UWA Medieval Society'''.

The current [[seneschal]] is Sivaroobini Kalaimani (Roobi), however due to extended absence Jacques currently holds the position.

Their battle cry is "Boom Boom", a pun on Basil Brush, a fox of impeccable humour. There are also references to crossed cannons (for the same fox), a broken tower (referring to Faulty Towers) and the motto "discere, vel mori" which translates to "Learn or Die".

* The Cock of Richard Cockburne - A drawing of a rooster head on cardboard. It was drawn by Joanna of Braidwood and signed by Richard Cockburne, before being affixed to his cardboard boat, the Double Entendre, where it engaged in a high seas (backyard) water fight, and was the last cardboard boat standing. The cock head upon the prow was ripped off and placed upon the wall of the Scout hall where the Barony holds its meetings, where it remained for many months. Then it was taken on pilgrimage to the [[Barony of Aneala]], visited the mundane location of Cockburne, was signed by the then King of Lochac, Jochen "the Rockin" Schwalbe, and also the purportedly gayest [[College of St Basil the Great|Basilisk]].

'''Inter-College War (ICW)''' is an annual [[SCA]] [[event]] in [[Lochac]] at which all the [[College]]s of the kingdom meet for 4 days of [[camping]] (well actually indoors bunkhouses are usually provided), [[war]], [[drinking]], [[fighting]], drinking, [[feasting]], drinking, fighting, tomfoolery... etc. Each year a different University hosts ICW, and it's generally held during the midsemester break - perfect timing for the middle of [[winter]]! It can be a very amusing event, very rowdy, and tons of fun. To give you some idea, think of a large congregation of [[university]] students from all across [[Australia]] in [[garb]] and [[armour]] attempting to recreate pre-[[16th century]], ultimately resulting in much entertainment, new friends, incriminating photos and an extraordinary hangover.
 

ICW began in June [[A.S. XXIX]] ([[1994]]), as a challenge between [[College of St Aldhelm|St Aldhelm]] and [[College of St Ursula|St Ursula]] during "The Defense of The [[Realm]]", an event held at the [[Crossroads]] site in [[Torlyon]].

[[Blessed Herman]]'s [[seneschal]] kidnapped by colleges of St [[College of St Bartholomew|Bart]], [[College of St Basil the Great|Basil]], and [[College of St Ursula|Ursula]]. [[Blessed Herman|Herman]]'s Seneschal also declared "Quartermaster's fine booty". 
2016 *ICW XXI - Held by [[College of St Basil]]. Was declared a draw between St Basil and the [[College of St Bartholomew]] 
2017 *ICW XXII - Held by the [[College of St Monica]]. Won by [[Blessed Herman]]. 
2018 *ICW XXIII - Held by [[St Malachy]], with the help of [[St Ursula]]. Won by [[St Ursula]]. 
2019 *ICW XXIV - Held and won by the [[College of St Crispin]]. The formation of the Church of Morecock and its Holy order of the Knights of Bacardi saw a threat upon the hegemony of The Fish Wizard (Deum Cephlapodum) and his Cephalopod Collective. This broke out into a (mock) holy war. 
2020 & 2021 - Event not run due to COVID-19 
2022 *ICW XXV - Held by the [[College of St Christina the Astonishing]] in [[Innilgard]], with the assistance of [[Blessed Herman]]. Won by [[Blessed Herman]]. Additional disagreement between St Christina and Blessed Herman over land was settled with a treaty by request of [[King]] Alain and [[Queen]] Safiya. No ducks were harmed during this war. 
2023 *ICW XXVI - Held by the [[College of St Monica]]. Won by [[Blessed Herman]]. 
2024 *ICW XXV and/or ICW XXVII - Held and won by [[St Ursula]]. The Ursulans and Crispies declared it was ICW XXV, while the Hermanites and their allies declared it was ICW XXVII and that this was an attempt to rewrite the history of two Hermanite victories in two years. War broke out over this perceived insult.
