In actuality, St Monica is the patron saint of disappointing children, alcoholics, and converting your relatives (among other things such as victims of adultery, victims of verbal abuse, married women, difficult marriages, and lapsed Catholics - but the first three are the ones claimed by Monicans). During ICW XXV, the Monicans sided with the [[College of Blessed Herman the Cripple]] over the [[College of St Christina the Astonishing]] as they believed that the Hermanites were the sort that we should help, as St Monica would have wanted.<br /> <br /> The quills on the College's heraldry are known by Monicans to be swan feathers (nothing so base as a goose feather, what are we, Cecillians?). As such, the swan is taken to be an informal symbol of the college. Monicans also consider the frog to be a symbol of the college, and if the heraldry of the college is drawn with supporters, they would be a frog and a swan. <br /> <br /> The [[Frog Champion of St Monica]] is a member of the college chosen for their wit and frivolity, as exhibited through a speech.
