It bestows the recipient with the 'right' to display their [[arms]] and to put the title [[Lord]] or [[Lady]] in front of their [[SCA name]].

As the [[Order of Precedence|lowest society level award]], it is not hard to earn. It is commonly bestowed upon those who the [[Crown]] or [[Coronet]] find have enriched the quality of the [[Game]] for others. This could range from working in the kitchen at major [[feast]]s, always helping clean-up after [[event]]s, helping to train others in [[combat]] or [[arts and sciences]], to greatly adding to the [[medieval]] atmosphere at events.
