Removed reference to "Byzantine" as I suspect the original author of this article meant to use it to mean 'characterized by intrigue; scheming or devious'*. Unfortunately, it came across as if the word "Autocrat" originated in Byzantium -- and the OED lists the first occurance as 1803.

*Although why that would be is also unclear.

== Article Naming ==
This is a bit more important than style as articles are only easy to link to if named in a consistent manner.

Only use capital letters for proper nouns. E.g. <nowiki>[[Kingdom Of The West]] should be [[Kingdom of the West]]</nowiki> (capitalisation of the first word in a link is ok for all words though).

Try to use the singular form of nouns as article titles. This allows people to link to the singular form (<nowiki>[[Ballista]]</nowiki>) as well as the plural form (<nowiki>[[Ballista]]e</nowiki>). Exceptions would be cases where the article must always be plural (eg. [[Other re-enactment sites]]).

If you're linking to a page that has a title that may be ambiguous you can append the subject to the end surrounded by brackets. E.g. <nowiki>[[Joe Bloggs (person)]] and [[Joe Bloggs (song)]]</nowiki> would be better than one page containing both. The use of subpages is no longer supported.

Numbers should be reserved for years only (eg. [[1066]]). [[AD]] isn't needed in titles but [[BC]] is (eg. [[5000 BC]]) this seems fair as most dates [[Cunnan]] will deal with are [[AD]] anyway.

Don't use 'the' in article titles. Your links should look like "The [[weather in London]]" and not "[[The weather in London]]"

Also known by the more [[medieval]] terms of "[[Steward]]" or "Warden".

The duties of an Autocrat include:
* arranging for a venue
* handling event paperwork, finances and reporting
* organizing and scheduling event activities
* if [[food]] is to be served, arranging for a [[feastocrat]]
* advertising the event
* taking bookings
* ensuring that everyone involved in the event is doing their job
* and doing everything they can to ensure that the event runs smoothly.

If the event is small, the Autocrat may do everything her/himself; if the event is large, the Autocrat will recruit a team of deputy autocrats to assist them.
