Title Stacking is the SCA practice of using multiple titles in order to try to fully qualify which SCA awards someone has and to which orders they belong. For example, Alexandre d'Avigne who is a member of the White Scarf, a Master of the Pelican, a Court Baron and Viceroy of Ostgardr might be called "Viceroy Baron Master Don Alexandre" while Edward Zifran of Gendy who is a triple peer as well as a Viscount might be "Viscount Sir Master Master Edward". (He's also a Court Baron, so you could toss in a "Baron," too.)

Needless to say, this can get very silly very quickly and furthermore bears little relationship to any sort of period practice. (Then again, neither does any facet of the SCA's award structure, really.)

A tradition is an activity that have become commonplace.Recreationists can have many traditions that are not related to history.

SCA Traditions
The SCA has many traditions, most of which are subject to Anthropology. Some are as simple as whether or not one should reverence (bow/curtsey) when one passes in front of the thrones if they are unoccupied, others are a little more complex. In the West, and now Lochac (as a scion of the West) it is often said that Laws can be changed, but tradition is immutable. Even so, some traditions drift out of favour, and new ones emerge all the time.

Some things should be thought of as fads not traditions (even if something lasts a few years it may just be a passing thing).

SCA traditions
* The SCA birthday song.
* Cloved lemons (and other fruit)
* No Shit, There I Was stories
* cheering - huzzah, vivat, hoobah and wassail.
* SCA time
* Cleaning up
* White belts for knights
* The Order of the Rose
* and many more this editor can't think of right now.

The Guelphs were a political faction in Italy active from the 12th century. The Guelphs supported papal power within Italy, as opposed to the Gibelines who supported the Holy Roman Empire.

Ascendancy over the Ghibeline faction in the late 13th century saw the faction splinter in Florence. These two sub-factions were the black guelphs, who continued to support the papacy, and the white guelphs, who wanted neither an Emperor nor a Pope.

As a general rule, Guelphs came from wealthy mercantile families. Supporters of the Guelph faction would often add a capo d'Angio to their device in order to show their allegiance.
