Peasant

Peasants, also known as Serfs, were low-ranked people that served under a lord. Often, they would work for the land they lived on, having to give up whatever the lord needed of them, crops, labour, or blood. Some infantry units were made of peasants led by a noble. They were given shoddy weapons and usually wore no armour on the battlefield. The only reason they fought was because if they didn't, their lord would come, burn their home, maybe take their children or rape their wives, and evict them off of their land.
