Eye (Weapon/Tool)

An eye is a circular hole (usually in a metal tool or weapon) that is designed to have another substance passed into or though. These include eyes of needles or of an axe.

In the case where a woodem shaft is to be affixed into the eye of an axe, adze or similar, then a wise idea is to cut a channel/slot into the shaft end first, fit the shaft, add some glue to the wedge and then drive it into the slot. Wooden wedges are excellent as they expand and contract at approximately the same rate as the shaft itself.

Eye (Body Part)

If your name is Harold and you are about to lose the Battle of Hastings, this part of your body will share space with an arrow.
